Where We All Belong: Building an Anti-Racist World

Thursday, March 25 6 pm - 7:30 pm
Virtual (registration required)

Join Hopkins junior high principals Julius Eromosele and Leanne Kampfe for a rich and timely discussion on navigating conversations about race and racism with your tween and teen. Adolescence is an important age to have authentic conversations with your child about racial equity and help them connect their beliefs to the world around them. This is a free online event, but registration is required. Register here.

Reject your Restrictive Covenant

On March 16, 2021, the City of Hopkins City Council adopted the resolution condemning the use of discriminatory covenants and approved the participation in the Just Deeds coalition. Coalition members provide free legal and title services to help property owners find discriminatory covenants and discharge them from their property titles.

City of Hopkins residents can find information about the Hopkins process here. For non-Hopkins residents, please visit Just Deeds website to find your City's process.

Recruiting for City of Hopkins Board and Commissions

Representation matters. Hopkins is an increasingly diverse community; 41.1% of the community identifying as non-white or Hispanic; 65% of homes are rental units; and 25.4% of our residents speak a language other than English at home.  A key council goal has been to increase representation throughout our organization, with a primary focus on Board and Commission members. It is vital to bring different perspectives to the table in order to make informed and inclusive decisions for the benefit of our entire community.

Often times, it takes someone to be told they would be an excellent applicant to see themselves in the role and get the courage to apply. If you, or someone you know would be excellent, you can find application information here.

NEW- Hopkins is adding a youth member spot to both the Planning Commission and Park Board! If you know a youth member age 14-18, with a Hopkins connection send them our way!
